Blount and Valles place in top 10 at Chandler-Gilbert Invitational

The Pima Community College women's golf team finished in third place for the fourth time this season on Tuesday in the Chandler-Gilbert CC Invitational.

The Aztecs finished with a two-day score of 680 (342-338) at the Toka Sticks Golf Course in Phoenix. Mesa Community College took first place (614) while South Mountain Community College placed second (659). The Aztecs are two-strokes ahead of Chandler-Gilbert Community College for third place in the ACCAC Conference standings.

Rachel Blount (Sahuaro HS) had the best finish for the Aztecs as she placed ninth with a two-day total of 163 (83-80). Paige Valles (Catalina Foothills HS) was right behind her in 10th place with a score of 169 (86-83). Jessica Nordby (Walden Grove HS) finished 13th as she shot a 173 (86-87) and Carley Nelson (Marana HS) was tied for 14th place with a score of 175 (87-88).

The Aztecs will close out the regular season in the South Mountain CC Invitational on Apr. 20-21 at the Legacy Golf Resort in Laveen, AZ. The teams will tee-off at noon on both days.
