Valles ties for seventh at South Mountain Invitational
The Pima Community College women's golf team closed out the regular season on Tuesday in the South Mountain Invitational at the Legacy Golf Course in Laveen.
The Aztecs finished in 3rd place for the fifth time this season with a two-day team score of 677 (334-343). Mesa Community College took first place with 588 and South Mountain Community College placed second with 654. The Aztecs finished in third place in the final conference standings.
Paige Valles (Catalina Foothills HS) put together her best two-day total of the season as she finished tied for seventh with a 156 (79-77). Rachel Blount (Sahuaro HS) finished tied for 10th place with a score of 165 (83-82). Carley Nelson (Marana HS) shot a 173 (83-90) which put her in 14th place. Casey Morinelli (Mountain View HS) and Jessica Nordby (Walden Grove HS) each finished tied for 17th with a 187.
The Aztecs will compete in the NJCAA National Tournament in Mesa on May 10-15.
