Hong sits tied for 10th after first round of NJCAA Championship

The Pima Community College women's golf team kicked off play in the NJCAA National Championship on Monday at the Chateau Elan Golf Club in Duluth, GA.

The Aztecs shot a total of 387 and are in 16th place out of 18 teams.

Sophomore Desiree Hong (Sahuaro HS) shot a six-over par 77 for the round and is tied for 10th place in the individual standings. She is six shots off the leader.

Freshman Abby Miller (Ironwood Ridge HS) closed out her day shooting a 95 while sophomore Samantha Hacker finished with a 99. Freshman Julianna Perez (Tucson HS) shot a 116.

The Aztecs continue with the second round of play tomorrow.
