Maria Harrouch and Angelica Martinez open play at NJCAA Division I National Tournament

Aztecs women's golf sophomores Maria Harrouch and Angelica Martinez (Tucson Magnet HS) opened play at the NJCAA Division I National Championships on Tuesday at the Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Garden City, KS. Pima Community College sophomore women's golfers Maria Harrouch and Angelica Martinez (Tucson Magnet HS) teed off for the first round of the NJCAA Division I National Championships on Tuesday at the Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Garden City, Kansas.

  • Harrouch closed out the day sitting tied for 10th place after she shot a three-over par 75. Harrouch is four-strokes behind leader Pearl Phoncharatkun from Seminole State, who finished the day with a one-under par 71.
  • Martinez finished up the day shooting an 8-over par 80 and sits tied for 30th in the individual standings.
  • The Aztecs will tee off for the second round on Wednesday. Pairings begin to hit the links around 9:00 a.m. (7:00 a.m. Tucson time).
