Maria Harrouch closes in on leader after second round at NJCAA Division I Nationals

The Pima Community College women's golf team closed out the second round of play on Wednesday at the NJCAA Division I National Championships.

  • Sophomore Maria Harrouch moved up six spots in the individual standings as she sits tied for fourth place after shooting a 4-over par 76. She has a two-day total of 151 (75-76) and is one-stroke back from second place and three-strokes behind from Pearl Phoncharatkun from Seminole State College for the lead.
  • Sophomore Angelica Martinez (Tucson Magnet HS) is tied for 32nd in the standings after she finished the second round with a score of 80. She has a two-day total of 160 (80-80).
  • The Aztecs will tee off for the third round on Thursday at the Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Garden City, KS. Martinez will hit the links beginning at 9:27 a.m. (7:27 a.m. Tucson time) and Harrouch will follow at 9:36 a.m. (7:36 a.m. Tucson time).
