The Pima Community College women's soccer team (6-1, 6-1 in ACCAC) took over in the second half in its game on Saturday against Paradise Valley Community College.
The No. 6 ranked Aztecs defeated No. 7 Paradise Valley 3-2 at the Reach 11 Sports Complex in Phoenix. The loss handed Paradise Valley its first defeat of the season.
With the game tied 1-1 after the first half, sophomore Devyn Hunley (Sabino HS) put the Aztecs up for good early in the second half with her goal in the 47th minute with an assist from fellow sophomore Callen Shelton (pictured). Sophomore Brandi Park (Sabino HS) added an insurance goal in the 50th minute.
Destiny Jones (Canyon del Oro HS) put the Aztecs on the board with a goal in the 16th minute. Aracely Romero (Tucson Magnet HS) had the assist.
The Aztecs were outshot by Paradise Valley 6-4 and Daniela Sanchez (Sabino HS) finished the game with four saves.
The Aztecs will host Cochise College at Kino North Stadium on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
