Urcadez Has Hat Trick as Aztecs Women's Soccer Beat GateWay CC

The Pima Community College women's soccer team (9-1, 9-1 in ACCAC) broke open its game against GateWay Community College in the second half.

The No. 6 ranked Aztecs scored five goals in the half and won 7-0 as they produced their sixth shutout at Kino Sports Complex and remained undefeated at home.

Maury Urcadez (Tucson Magnet HS) (pictured), a freshman, scored three goals in the game. She put the Aztecs on the board in the 12th minute with an assist from freshman Shania Pablo (Tucson Magnet HS). She scored twice in the second half in the 66th and 75th minutes. Both goals were assisted by Devyn Hunley (Sabino HS).

Freshman Destiny Jones (Canyon del Oro HS) scored two goals. She netted her first in the 52nd minute that was assisted by freshman Gentry McPherson. She scored again in the 84th minute that was assisted by sophomore Maria Mata (Desert View HS). Mata also scored a goal in the 78th minute that was assisted by sophomore Alyssa O'Connell (Empire HS).

Freshman Maria Delgadillo (Rio Rico HS) scored a goal in the 25th minute that was assisted by McPherson.

The Aztecs outshot GateWay 30-1 and freshman Daniela Sanchez (Sabino HS) finished with one save.

The Aztecs begin the second half of the season on Thursday when they play at Arizona Western College in Yuma at 4:30 p.m. The Aztecs beat Arizona Western 2-0 on Sept. 3 at Kino North Stadium.
