The Pima Community College women's soccer team (10-1, 10-1 in ACCAC) earned its sixth straight win and third straight shutout on Thursday in Yuma.
The No. 6 ranked Aztecs blanked Arizona Western College 2-0 behind sophomore Devyn Hunley (Sabino HS), as she scored two first half goals. She put the Aztecs on the board in the 11th minute with an assist from fellow sophomore Brandi Park (Sabino HS). Hunley found the back of the net again in the 36th minute with an assist from sophomore Alyssa O'Connell (Empire HS).
The Aztecs outshot Arizona Western 12-9 for the game and freshman goalkeeper Daniela Sanchez (Sabino HS) finished with nine saves.
This is the Aztecs' eighth shutout win of the season and second on the road. Pima swept the regular season series against Arizona Western. They beat them 2-0 on Sept. 3 at Kino North Stadium.
The Aztecs conclude a busy week on Saturday when they play at South Mountain Community College in Phoenix at 10:00 a.m.
