Mata Produces Hat Trick as Women's Soccer Win Seventh Straight

The Pima Community College women's soccer team (11-1, 11-1 in ACCAC) continue to roll as the Aztecs defeated South Mountain Community College 7-1 on Saturday in Phoenix. This was No. 6 ranked Pima's seventh straight victory.

Sophomore Maria Mata (Desert View HS) had a hat trick scoring two goals in the first half as the Aztecs took a 4-0 halftime lead. Mata added a second half goal in the 68th minute. Fellow sophomore Brandi Park netted two goals in the 41st and 72nd minute.

Freshman Shania Pablo (Tucson Magnet HS) put the Aztecs on the board with a goal in the 19th minute and Alexis Aguirre (Nogales HS) scored in the 54th. Sophomore Callen Shelton had two assists while fellow sophomores Devyn Hunley (Sabino HS) and Alyssa O'Connell (Empire HS) as well as freshman Maury Urcadez (Tucson Magnet HS) each had an assist in the game.

The Aztecs will be back at the Kino North Stadium on Tuesday when they host Phoenix College at 4:30 p.m.
