Aztecs Women's Soccer Clinch ACCAC Conference Title and No. 1 Seed, Beat Glendale

The Pima Community College women's soccer team (17-1-2, 17-1-2 in ACCAC) took home its second straight ACCAC conference regular season title on Saturday after its win at Glendale Community College.

The Aztecs secured the No. 1 seed for the Region I, Division I tournament next week after they defeated Glendale 5-0. The Aztecs also earned their 12th shutout victory of the season and outscored opponents 14-0 in their final four games; all on the road.

Freshman Destiny Jones (Canyon del Oro HS) scored two goals for the Aztecs. She put them on the board in the 36th minute with an assist from sophomore Brandi Park (Sabino HS). Jones netted her second goal in the 70th minute to help seal it. Park scored off a penalty kick in the 41st minute to give the Aztecs a 3-0 lead at halftime.

Sophomore Devyn Hunley (Sabino HS) scored her team-leading 12th goal of the season in the 59th minute to make it 4-0. Freshman Shania Pablo (Tucson Magnet HS) scored her goal in the first half at the 37th minute.

The Aztecs outshot Glendale 16-4 and freshman goalkeeper Daniela Sanchez (Sabino HS) finished with two saves. She had 73 saves on the year. Sophomore keeper Mason Howard (Marana HS) played the second half and also had two saves.

The Aztecs receive a bye and will host the Region I, Division I semifinal game at Kino North stadium on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. They'll play the winner of the No. 4 and No. 5 seeded quarterfinal game.
