Aztecs Women's Soccer Drop Opener Against Paradise Valley

The Pima Community College women's soccer team (0-1, 0-1 in ACCAC) played a tough defensive battle to open the 2016 season on Tuesday.

The No. 9 ranked Aztecs fell 1-0 to No. 10 Paradise Valley Community College (1-0, 1-0) at the Rose Mofford Sports Complex. The Pumas scored in the 10th minute but the Aztecs could not respond on offense.

Sophomore Daniela Sanchez (Sabino HS) finished the game with eight saves.

This was the first meeting between the Aztecs and the Pumas since last season's Region I, Division I finals. Pima won 2-1 to advance to the NJCAA National Tournament.

The Aztecs will look to bounce back on Saturday as they host their home opener against South Mountain Community College on Saturday at Kino North Stadium. The game starts at 7:00 p.m.
