Pablo Scores Twice as Women's Soccer Dominates Against GateWay

The Pima Community College women's soccer team (4-2, 4-2 in ACCAC) built a lead after the first half and poured it on in the second as the Aztecs rebounded from Tuesday's loss to decimate GateWay Community College (0-5, 0-5).

Shania Pablo (Tucson Magnet HS) scored two goals as the Aztecs ran away with a 5-0 win on Thursday at the Kino North Grandstand. The Aztecs responded after fall in double overtime on Tuesday at Scottsdale Community College.

Pablo put the Aztecs ahead in the 19th minute with a shot that found the back of the net. She scored her second goal in the 67th minute with an assist from freshman Dalena Garcia (Rincon HS) to make it 4-0.

Sophomore Alexis Aguirre (Nogales HS) made it 2-0 in the 24th minute after freshman Jahmonique Smith (Cienega HS) set her up with a great cross pass. Smith scored her goal in the 73rd minute with an assist from Alexis Hernandez (Ironwood Ridge).

Freshman Daelyn Mayer (Walden Grove HS) put the Aztecs ahead 3-0 early in the second half with her goal. Sophomore Maury Urcadez (Tucson Magnet HS) set up Mayer's goal from a corner kick in the 56th minute.

The Aztecs controlled their side of the field as they outshot the Geckos 19-2 for the game. Sophomore Daniela Sanchez (Sabino HS) finished the game with two saves.

The Aztecs will be back on the road on Saturday when they play at Chandler-Gilbert Community College at 7:00 p.m.
