Aztec Women's Soccer Win Fourth Straight Road Game, Shut Out Phoenix College

The Pima Community College women's soccer team (9-4, 9-4 in ACCAC) won its fourth straight road game on Saturday.

The Aztecs defeated Phoenix College (5-7-1, 5-7-1) 2-0 earning their fifth shutout win of the season. The Aztecs have also won five of their last six games.

Sophomore Shania Pablo (Tucson Magnet HS) put the Aztecs on the board with her goal in the 22nd minute with an assist from freshman Taylor Inocencio (St. Augustine Catholic HS). Pima led 1-0 at halftime.

Freshman Dalena Garcia (Rincon HS) gave the Aztecs a bit of a cushion with her goal in the 48th minute. The defense preserved the shutout in the end.

The Aztecs were outshot by the Bears 8-6 for the game. Sophomore goalkeeper Daniela Sanchez (Sabino HS) was superb behind the net once again finishing with eight saves.

The Aztecs swept the head-to-head meetings with the Bears. Pima won 3-1 at the Kino North Grandstand in August.

The Aztecs will be back at the Kino North Stadium on Tuesday when they host Cochise College. The game will start at 7:00 p.m.
