Hernandez earns second ACCAC Conference Player of the Week honor

Pima Community College sophomore Alexis Hernandez (Ironwood Ridge HS) took home her second honor from the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference on Monday.

Hernandez, a forward, was named ACCAC Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 2-8. She was Co-Player of the Week earlier this season for the week of Aug. 28-Sept. 3.

Hernandez helped lead the Aztecs to a 3-0 record this week with wins at Cochise and Scottsdale Community College. She scored three goals and had one assist for the week.

Hernandez scored the golden goal in Saturday's win against GateWay Community College and scored both goals in Pima's 2-1 win at Cochise. Hernandez has played and started in all 16 games and has 16 goals and four assists on the season.

The Aztecs have two regular season home game remaining on the schedule. They'll host Chandler-Gilbert Community College on Tuesday at Kino North Stadium at 4:30 p.m.
