Karp Drops Consolation Final as Aztecs Women's Tennis Season Ends at NJCAA Nationals

The Pima Community College women's tennis team closed out play in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament on Wednesday at the JoAnn Medlock Murphy Tennis Center in Tyler, TX.

The Aztecs finished with 12.5 points and were in 15th place heading into the fourth day of competition.

Sophomore Noelle Karp (Catalina Foothills HS) lost in the No. 3 singles consolation bracket final against Agustina Grimolizzi from North Central Texas College 8-2.

"She (Noelle) had a great tournament especially playing with a shoulder injury. That just showed how much she wanted to compete," Pima coach Gretchen Schantz said. "I'm very happy with this solid finish at Nationals and a great season overall."

The Aztecs finished the regular season with an 11-5 overall record and a 6-2 record in ACCAC conference play.
