Volleyball's Andrea Vigil-German named Chapman Automotive Aztecs Student-Athlete of the Week

Sophomore Andrea Vigil German (Ironwood Ridge HS) was named the Chapman Automotive Aztecs Student-Athlete of the Week recipient for the week of Oct. 25-31. Pima Community College sophomore volleyball player Andrea Vigil German (Ironwood Ridge HS) was selected the Chapman Automotive Aztecs Student-Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.

  • Vigil German, an outside hitter, helped the team earn a No. 4 seed in the NJCAA Region I, Division II Tournament; which starts on Thursday at Chandler-Gilbert Community College. She led the team in kills (200), total attacks (667) and was second in digs (237). She played in 24 matches and 81 sets during the regular season.
  • Coach's Quote: "Andrea is a starter and leader for our team. She has a quiet demeanor, but brings intensity and determination every day," Pima volleyball coach Dan Bithell said.
  • Vigil German was named first team NJCAA All-Academic (4.0 GPA) in 2020-21.

She volunteers and helps coach volleyball youth camps/clinics with Club Cactus Juniors and helps her mom coach youth volleyball at Mountain Vista Middle School. She worked over the summer at the Portland Cement Co.
