Isabella Jacome posts 25 assists but Aztecs Volleyball falls at South Mountain CC

The Pima Community College volleyball team (5-13, 2-6 in ACCAC) hit the road for an ACCAC conference match at South Mountain Community College (6-14, 3-6) on Wednesday in Phoenix.

  • The Aztecs fell to the Cougars in straight sets 30-28, 25-17, 25-23. This was the third meeting between the two teams this season as the Aztecs had won the previous two contests.
  • Sophomore Isabella Jacome finished the match with 25 assists, five digs and two aces. Jacome set up sophomores Deanna Almaguer or Jessica Bright-Schade (Safford) for 14 of her 25 assists.
  • Almaguer finished the match with eight kills and two blocks. Bright-Schade posted six kills and nine digs.

The Aztecs will return to the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium on Friday when they host No. 4 ranked Scottsdale Community College. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
