Bruno repeats as ACCAC Conference Champion; Six earn All-Conference
The Pima Community College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the ACCAC Championships on Wednesday at the Glen Lakes Golf Course in Glendale.
- Sophomore Katherine Bruno (Canyon del Oro HS) repeated as ACCAC conference champion as she finished the 5K (3.1 mile) race with a personal-best time of 18 minutes, 12.80 seconds. Freshman Mary Siml took seventh place with a time of 20:00.2. Bruno and Siml earned first team All-ACCAC.
- Sophomores Kaylen Fox (Sahuaro HS) and Cindy Corrales (Nogales HS) earned third team All-ACCAC honors. Fox was 15th at 20:41.6 and Corrales took 17th place at 20:47.5.
- In the men's 8K (4.97 miles) race, freshmen Luis Tarazon (Desert View HS) and Jeffrey Klopf took home third team All-ACCAC honors. Tarazon was 15th with a time of 26:55.5 and Klopf finished 18th at 27:21.7.
- Both teams took fourth place in the final team standings.
The Aztecs will compete at the Mesa CC Thunderbird Classic on Saturday, Oct. 6. The men's race will be at 8:30 a.m. and the women's race will follow at 9:05 a.m.
