Four Aztecs Score in Double Figures as Men's Basketball Dominate

The Pima Community College men's basketball team (7-7) used a big run early in the first half to break away in its game against the Planet Athlete National Prep team on Monday.

The Aztecs won 95-46 as they used a 26-0 run and held Planet Athlete scoreless for almost 10 minutes in the first half to take control.

Pima led 52-16 at halftime and outscored Planet Athlete 43-33 in the second half. The Aztecs finished the game with 21 steals and 17 assists.

Sophomore Justice Martion scored a game-high 19 points as he went 8 for 10 from the field. Fellow sophomore Yusef Shehata (Amphitheater HS) hit a pair of three-pointers early in the second half and finished with 13 points along with six steals and three assists. Freshman Kwintin Williams finished with 12 points as he was 6 for 8 shooting and also had seven rebounds.

The Pima bench scored 42 points and were led by freshman Zach Evans (Hamilton HS), who had 10 points. Fellow freshman Damon Dubots had eight points and 11 rebounds.

The Aztecs will play Elite Academy at the West Campus on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
