Williams' Double-Double Propels Men's Basketball in Close Win at South Mountain

The Pima Community College men's basketball team (10-8, 5-5 in ACCAC) got back in the win column on Wednesday in a tight nipped game in Phoenix.

The Aztecs held on to beat South Mountain Community College (9-9, 5-5) 81-79 after the Cougars fell short in their final attempt with five seconds left.

The Aztecs led 36-33 at halftime and were ahead 73-69 with four minutes left in the game.

Freshman Kwintin Williams led the Aztecs with 27 points and 19 rebounds. Sophomore Yusef Shehata (Amphitheater HS) contributed with 19 points, six rebounds and four assists.

The Aztecs will play first on Saturday at the West Campus against Scottsdale Community College. The game will be at 5:00 p.m.
