Koehler, Walker and Team Manager Gutierrez sign LOIs to four-year universities

Pima Community College men's basketball players Kennedy Koehler and Travis Walker (Sabino HS) along with Team Manager Joe Gutierrez (Cienega HS) signed their national letters of intent on Thursday.

  • Koehler, a forward, signed to the University of California Davis, an NCAA Division I school playing out of the Big West Conference. He was selected second team All-ACCAC and first team All-Region I, Division II. Koehler produced 21 double-doubles in points and rebounds this season. He went on to average 19.0 points and 10.7 rebounds in 35 games; making 33 starts.
  • Walker, a guard/forward, signed to play at Arizona Christian University, an NAIA private Christian institution in Phoenix, AZ. He played in 25 games and averaged 2.8 points and 2.4 rebounds per game.
  • Gutierrez has been the Pima men's basketball team manager for three seasons and will move on to the four-year university level as he works with coach Steve Schaefer and his staff at Benedictine University at Mesa as their Team Manager.

The Aztecs finished the season at 29-7 overall and claimed their third straight NJCAA Region I, Division II championship. The Aztecs took seventh place at the NJCAA Division II Tournament.
