Ironwood Ridge's Lathrop and Gallup's Atazhoon commit to Aztecs men's basketball

The Pima Community College men's basketball team added two more players to its 2020 Recruiting Class.

• Kolby Lathrop (Ironwood Ridge HS) and Quinn Atazhoon (Gallup HS, NM) will join the Aztecs and begin their collegiate careers in the 2020-21 season.
• Lathrop, a 6-5 forward, averaged 11.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 1.8 blocks in 18 games as a junior with the Nighthawks.
  Coach's Quote: "Kolby is kind of an unknown. He missed his senior season year due to injury. I liked what I saw his junior year," Pima men's basketball coach Brian Peabody said. "He is tough with a great deal of athleticism."
• Atazhoon, a 6-5 guard/forward, nearly averaged a double-double in his senior season with the Bengals. He posted 21.2 points, 9.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game.
  Coach's Quote: "Quinn is a great shooter with size," Peabody said. "He is 6'5" with length. Hopefully he can fill the role of (Jake) Lieppert."
