Men's Basketball starters all score in double figures as Aztecs defeat Bismarck State College

The Pima Community College men's basketball team (11-1) put together another dominating performance on Friday in the second day of the Aztec Holiday Classic.
- The No. 18 ranked Aztecs never trailed as they beat Bismarck State College 92-73 at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium.
- The Aztecs took their first double digit lead at 22-11 with 11 minutes left in the first half and later went on a 16-5 run to take a 38-16 advantage. The Aztecs led 49-28 at halftime.
- Pima took their biggest lead of the game at 80-48 with 10 minutes remaining.
- All five starters scored in double figures as freshman Jaylen Alexander had a team-high 18 points on 8 for 9 shooting. He completed the double-double by adding 10 rebounds.
- Freshman Mike Pope went 5 for 7 from three-point range and 6 for 8 overall as he finished with 17 points and five assists. Freshman Dillan Baker (Salpointe Catholic HS) also scored 17 points. He also added three rebounds, four assists and three steals.
- Sophomore Traivar Jackson finished with 13 points after he went 6 for 9 from the field. He also had two blocks.
- Sophomore Cesar Saenz (Sabino HS) had a double-double of 11 points, 10 assists. He also added four rebounds.
- The Aztecs shot 19 for 32 (.594) and 8 for 15 from beyond the arc for the first half. Pima out-rebounded the Mystics 41-30 for the game.
The Aztecs will close out play in the Aztec Holiday Classic on Saturday against Frank Phillips College. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.
