Williams and Gardner earn All-American status at NJCAA National Championships

The Pima Community College men's track & field team closed the first two days of competition at the NJCAA Division I National Championships on Wednesday at South Plains College in Levelland, TX.

  • Freshman Bryce Williams earned fifth place in the Pole Vault and gave Pima four team points as he matched his season-best with a vault of 4.60 meters (15-feet, 1-inch). His finish earned him NJCAA Division I All-American Honorable Mention.
  • Freshman Reece Gardner (Marana HS) finished in eighth place in the Decathlon with 5679 points earning him NJCAA Division I All-American Honorable Mention. His finish also gave Pima one team point. He was the NJCAA Region I Champion in the Decathlon.
  • The Aztecs sit in 19th place in the team standings with a total of five points.
  • The Aztecs close out competition at the NJCAA Division I National Championships on Thursday. ñ
