Tristan Spalding breaks fourth indoor school record, Jett Jue sets national qualifier at Gaucho Indoor Invitational

The Pima Community College men's and women's track & field teams competed at the Gaucho Indoor Invitational on Saturday at Glendale Community College.

  • Freshman Jett Jue (Winslow HS) took second place in the Long Jump and set an Indoor and Outdoor season national qualifying mark with a jump of 7.24 meters (23-feet, 9-inches). That was a new personal record, and he is now sixth in Pima school history.
  • Sophomore Tristan Spalding (Palo Verde HS) has broken an indoor school record for the fourth straight meet as he took down the 200-meter record with a time of 21.71 seconds. He has broken the indoor school records in the 60 meters, 400 metters and the 4x400 relay.
  • In women's competition, sophomore Psalm Johnson (Union HS) improved on her national qualifier in the Pentathlon as she finished with 2432 points. She improved on her qualifier, which was previously set at 2315.
  • Freshman Tianna Moseley earned a personal-best as she took first place in the Triple Jump with a mark of 11.11 meters (36-5.50). She is now ninth in indoor school history for the event.
  • Freshman Kapualani Magnani (Empire HS) set a new personal record in the Weight Throw as she finished with a mark of 13.13 meters (43-1).

The Aztecs will compete at the NAU Tune-Up meet on Friday in Flagstaff. It is the final meet before the NJCAA Indoor National Championships on Mar. 3-4 at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas.
