Tristan Spalding breaks own record in 200 meters at NAU Tune-Up

The Pima Community College men's and women's track & field teams competed in their final Indoor regular season meet on Friday at the NAU Tune-Up in Flagstaff.

  • Sophomore Tristan Spalding (Palo Verde HS) broke his own Pima school record in the 200-meter race as he took first place with a time of 21.60 seconds. He broke the record the week before at the Gaucho Indoor Invitational with a time of 21.70. Spalding has claimed four Indoor school records in five meets.
  • Freshman Abraham Valenzuela (Palo Verde HS) earned a national qualifying time in the one-mile race with a time of 4 minutes, 27.97 seconds.
  • Sophomore Trey Tintinger improved on his national qualifying mark in the High Jump as he took first place with a mark of 2.11 meters (6-feet, 11-inches). He improved his mark from 2.05 meters (6-8.75) set on Jan. 28 at the PVCC Indoor Invitational.

The Aztecs will compete in the NJCAA Indoor National Championships on March 3-4 at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas.
