Tintinger, Lane and Arvayo named NJCAA All-Americans after second day at National Championships

The Pima Community College men's track & field team closed out the second day of competition at the NJCAA Division I National Championship on Friday.
- The Aztecs secured 10 team points on the day.
- Sophomore Trey Tintinger finished in third place and earned six team points after the High Jump event. He cleared 2.10 meters (6-feet, 10.75) and just short of his season-best jump of 2.11 meters (6-11).
- Freshman Johnathon Lane (Walden Grove HS) took sixth place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase after finishing with a time of 9 minutes, 41.55 seconds. He earned three points in just the third steeplechase race of his career.
- Freshman Dillon Arvayo (Mountain View HS) placed eighth in the Decathlon with 5656 points.
- Tintinger, Lane and Arvayo were all NJCAA Region I Champions in their respected events.
Other Pima finishes:
- Joel Gardner (Ironwood Ridge HS) – 12th in 10,000 meters 33:15.48
- Nathan Jones (Show Low HS) – 13th in Hammer Throw 47.36 meters (155-5)
- Jett Jue (Winslow HS) – 16th in Long Jump 7.18 meters (23-6.75)
The Aztecs will close out the 2023 season on Saturday in the final day of the NJCAA Division I National Championships.
