Raekwon Weatherspoon breaks 41-year Long Jump school record as Men's Track & Field sets nine national qualifers

Sophomore Raekwon Weatherspoon broke a 41-year Indoor school record in the Long Jump at 7.69 meters (25-feet, 2.75-inches) while sophomore Carter Huntsman took first in the Pole Vault and owns the No. 2 spot in Indoor school history. The Pima Community College men's track & field team opened the 2025 season on Saturday as it hosted the Jim Mielke Multi's and the Al Shirley Memorial Invitational at the West Campus Aztec Track.
- Sophomore Raekwon Weatherspoon broke the Pima Indoor school record in the Long Jump as he took first place with a mark of 7.69 meters (25-feet, 2.75-inches). He broke Greg Foster's jump of 25-feet, 1-inch set back in 1984.Weatherspoon's jump also qualified for him for both the Indoor and Outdoor National Championships.
- Sophomore Carter Huntsman took first place in the Pole Vault with a mark of 4.72 meters (15-feet, 5.75-inches) as he qualified for both national championships. Huntsman's mark also put him second in the Pima Indoors all-time list.
- Freshman Cedric Cade finished second in the Heptathlon with a total of 4460 earning a national qualifier. He took first place in the 60-meter dash, 60-meter hurdles, High Jump and Long Jump.
- Sophomore Tyler Rogers secured his spot in both the Indoor and Outdoor National Championships as he took first place in the High Jump with a mark of 2.04 meters (6-8.25). Sophomore Nathaniel Curtiss (University HS) and freshman Malachi Keller (Tombstone HS) tied for third place at 1.99 meters (6-6.25) and earned national qualifying jumps.
- Freshman Nathan Moreno claimed first place and qualified for both the Indoor and Outdoor National Championships in the Triple Jump with a mark of 14.90 meters (48-10.50) while freshman Isaiah Jordan qualified for Indoor nationals with his qualifier of 14.57 meters (47-9.50).
- Freshman Taylor Brown took first place in the 400 meters with a national qualifying time of 48.18 seconds.
- Freshman Ketch Sulpizio (Gila Ridge HS) earned second place in the Pole Vault and set his Indoor national qualifier with a vault of 4.33 meters (14-2.50).
