Jake Applegate breaks own school record in 60-meter hurdles, Brown improves qualifier in 400 meters at NAU Tune-Up

The Pima Community College men's and women's track & field teams competed in their final regular season meet of the Indoor Season on Friday at the NAU Tune-Up in Flagstaff.
- Freshman Jake Applegate broke the Pima Indoor school record in the 60-meter hurdles for the second time this season. This time, he beat out his own record as he finished with a time of 8.25 seconds.
He broke the record the first time on Feb. 8 when he closed out the race with a time of 8.30 shattering the record set by Nicholas Patterson (8.37) in 2024. - Freshman Taylor Brown moved up to No. 3 in the 400-meter Indoor school record books as he improved on his national qualifying time, finishing at 48.06 seconds. He had set his qualifier in the event on Jan. 17 when he crossed the finish line at 48.18.
The Aztecs will compete in the NJCAA Indoor National Championships on March 7-8 at The Sports Performance Center in Lubbock, TX.
