Softball's Marina Price and Nevaeah Bracamonte sweep ACCAC Player and Pitcher of the Week awards

The Pima Community College softball team picked up wins in three out of the four games played last week at the El Paso CC Invitational and two of its players got recognition from the ACCAC conference for the week of Feb. 4-10.

  • Freshman infielder/utility player Marina Price (Rincon/University HS) was named ACCAC Division I Player of the Week while freshman pitcher Nevaeah Bracamonte was selected ACCAC Division I Pitcher of the Week.
  • Price went 4 for 8 with three runs, two walks and one stolen bases in three games played. Her standout performance included going 3 for 3 with a run scored in Pima's 7-5 loss to Cisco College.
  • Bracamonte pitched two games at the invitational. She took the loss in the game against Cisco College but got the win against El Paso Community College. She threw 9.1 innings, giving up four earned runs with seven strikeouts and one walk.

The Aztecs are 7-6 overall and are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 24 when they play a non-conference doubleheader at Phoenix College. First game is at noon.
