The Pima Community College women's basketball team (1-1) faced a top 10 team in Division I on Friday in the Arizona Western Classic.
The No. 10 ranked Aztecs (Division II), fell against No. 9 ranked New Mexico Junior College (Division I) 55-39. Pima trailed 26-15 at halftime.
Freshman Sydni Stallworth (Palo Verde HS) scored a game-high 19 points to go along with six rebounds and three assists. Sophomore Taylor Blue finished with nine points as the Aztecs struggled from the field shooting 24 percent for the game.
The Aztecs will close out the Arizona Western Classic on Saturday against Brookdale Community College (NJ) at noon.
