The Pima Community College women's basketball team (2-1) closed out the Arizona Western Classic on Saturday with a dominating win.
The No. 10 ranked Aztecs beat Brookdale Community College (NJ) 94-38 as Pima outscored them 48-12 in the second and third quarters.
Freshman Erin Peterson (Catalina Foothills HS) scored a game-high 17 points and also grabbed eight rebounds. Fellow freshman Bailey Johnson (Tucson Magnet HS) finished with 16 points and two assists as she went 6 for 11 from the field and 4 for 9 from three-point range.
Freshman Sydni Stallworth (Palo Verde HS) posted 15 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Sophomore Gabby Banales (Cienega HS) contributed with 13 points and four rebounds.
The Aztecs will begin ACCAC conference play on Wednesday against Chandler-Gilbert Community College at the West Campus. The game starts at 5:30 p.m.
