Stallworth scores 24 points as Aztecs women's basketball beat Tohono O'odham CC
The Pima Community College women's basketball team (15-4, 9-3 in ACCAC) earned a win on the road to start the second half of the season on Wednesday.
The No. 3 ranked Aztecs defeated Tohono O'odham Community College (4-13, 2-10) 71-57 in Sells, AZ.
The Aztecs led 28-25 at halftime but outscored the Jegos 43-33 for the second half.
Sophomore Sydni Stallworth (Palo Verde HS) led the way with 24 points, six assists, four rebounds and four steals. Fellow sophomore Bree Cates finished with 13 points while sophomore Denesia Smith (Cienega HS) contributed with 11 points. Sophomore Erin Peterson (Catalina Foothills HS) added seven points and 11 rebounds.
The Aztecs swept the regular season head-to-head meetings with the Jegos. Pima won 88-51 at the West Campus gymnasium in November.
The Aztecs will return to the West Campus on Saturday when they host Chandler-Gilbert Community College. The game starts at 2:00 p.m.
