Nakai goes wild, drops 34 points as Aztecs women's basketball overwhelms Tohono O'odham CC

The Pima Community College women's basketball team (3-1, 2-0 in ACCAC) earned a one-sided victory on Tuesday in its first road ACCAC conference game of the season.

The No. 6 ranked Aztecs dismantled Tohono O'odham Community College 112-40 in Sells, AZ. The Aztecs took a 57-32 lead at halftime and only surrendered eight points to the Jegos in the second half.

Freshman Jacqulynn Nakai (Coconino HS) could not be stopped as she scored a game-high 34 points to go along with seven assists, four rebounds, six steals and only three turnovers. Sophomore Izzy Spruit (Mesquite HS) scored 14 points while freshman Shauna Bribiescas (Dobson HS) fell short of a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.

The Aztecs return to the West Campus next Tuesday, Nov. 28 when they host Chandler-Gilbert Community College at 5:30 p.m.
