Six score in double figures as Aztecs women's basketball trounces Arizona Christian Developmental

The Pima Community College women's basketball team (2-0) fired on all cylinders and scored in the triple digits on Saturday against the Arizona Christian University Developmental team.

  • The No. 14 ranked Aztecs defeated the Firestorm 108-78 at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium.
  • The Aztecs produced six scorers in double figures. They were led by sophomore Jacqulynn Nakai (Coconino HS), who finished with a team-high 23 points on 8 for 11 shooting to go along with nine assists and four rebounds.
  • Sophomore Brianna Pitre (Sabino HS) finished with 16 points on 6 for 10 shooting and three steals. Sophomores Shuna Bribiescas (Dobson HS), RyLeigh Long and freshman Haile Gleason each had 11 points. Freshman Alyssa Perez (Marana HS) contributed with 10 points, seven assists and four steals.

The Aztecs will hit the road and compete in the Eastern Arizona Classic from Thursday to Saturday in Thatcher. Their first game is against Howard College on Thursday at 3:00 p.m.
