Four score in double figures but Aztecs Women's Basketball falls to Snow College

The Pima Community College women's basketball team (3-1) closed out play in the Eastern Arizona Classic on Saturday in Thatcher.
- The No. 16 ranked Aztecs (Division II) fell to Snow College (Division I) 72-63.
- The Aztecs trailed 35-33 at halftime but the Badgers (2-2) took a double digit lead in the third quarter and led by as much as 15 points at 59-44. The Aztecs got outscored in the quarter 24-14.
- The Aztecs finished with four players scoring in double figures. Freshman Dominique Acosta (Nogales HS) led the way with 12 points to go along with seven rebounds. She averaged 11.7 points and 8.3 rebounds during the Eastern Arizona Classic.
- Sophomore Luisa Chavez (Rio Rico HS) closed out the game with 10 points, four assists and four steals. She averaged 16.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 3.7 steals in the last three games.
- Sophomore Aiona Johnson finished with 10 points and seven rebounds while sophomore Jaden Leslie had 10 points and two steals.
- Sophomore Torrance Begay (Page HS) added nine points and fellow sophomore Matehya Aberle (Holbrook HS) contributed with eight points.
- Coach's quote: "We have a good of work left but we have the right pieces to be good," Pima women's basketball coach Todd Holthaus said about the last three games in Thatcher.
The Aztecs begin ACCAC conference play on Tuesday, November 22 when they host Eastern Arizona College at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
