Maria Harrouch claims her fourth straight tournament crown at the Chandler-Gilbert CC Invitational

The Pima Community College women's golf team completed play in its fifth regular season tournament on Sunday as part of the Chandler-Gilbert CC Invitational held at the Las Colinas Golf Course in Queen Creek.

  • The Aztecs took third place and finished with a season-best score of 635. They collectively shot their best round of the season on Sunday closing it out with a 309. They finished with a 326 after the first round of play. South Mountain Community College took first place with a 613 (307-306) and Mesa Community College placed second with a 617 (308-309).
  • Sophomore Maria Harrouch snagged her fourth straight individual title as she produced a season-best score of 144. She shot a 2-over par 73 in Saturday's round and an even-par 71 to close it out. She trailed Mesa's Presley Pickron by two-strokes after the first round of play. Harrouch won the individual tournament by three-strokes after beating out South Mountain's Kylie Rehberger (147-75-72).
  • Sophomore Angelica Martinez (Tucson Magnet HS) shot finished tied for ninth place with a score of 158 (80-78).
  • Freshman Myranda Moreno (Tucson Magnet HS) produced her best round of the season after she shot a 79 on Sunday. She finished tied for 14th place with a season-best score of 165 (86-79).
  • Freshman Kayley Yanez (Marana HS) followed suit as she shot a season-best 81 in Sunday's round and finished tied for 17th place with a 168 (87-81), which was also a season-best.

The Aztecs will play their sixth tournament at the South Mountain CC Invitational on Wednesday and Thursday. It will be at the Aguila Golf Course in Laveen Village. Teams will begin to tee off at noon on both days.
