Urcadez Has Three Assists as Women's Soccer Blanks Cochise College

The Pima Community College women's soccer team (10-4, 10-4 in ACCAC) won its 10th game of the season on Tuesday for the sixth straight year.

The Aztecs dominated to defeat Cochise College (1-13, 1-13) 5-0. It was the first time they played at Kino since suffering their first home loss in three years against Paradise Valley Community College a couple weeks ago.

Sophomore Maury Urcadez (Tucson Magnet HS) found her teammates as she finished with three assists. She helped put the Aztecs on the board in the 2nd minute when freshman Alexis Hernandez (Ironwood Ridge HS) put in her goal. Urcadez found fellow sophomore Destiny Jones (Canyon del Oro HS) for her goal in the 36th minute to make it 3-0. She also had a great pass in freshman Jahmonique Smith's (Cienega HS) goal in the 66th minute to make it 4-0.

Sophomore Sonia Garcia (Sabino HS) put the Aztecs up 2-0 in the first half as she hit a strike on a 40-yard free kick in the 25th minute. Freshman Dalena Garcia (Rincon HS) hit a great shot from 30 yards out in the 78th minute.

The Aztecs took a 3-0 advantage on the Apaches after the first half.

Freshman Tara Kase (Buena HS) finished the game with three saves in the second half. Sophomore Daniel Sanchez (Sabino HS) played the first half but had no saves.

The Aztecs will be back at Kino North Stadium on Thursday when they host Scottsdale Community College at 7:00 p.m.
