Urcadez's Goal Proves Enough as Women's Soccer Defeat GateWay

The Pima Community College women's soccer team (12-4, 12-4 in ACCAC) earned its fifth straight win on Saturday in Phoenix.

The Aztecs defeated GateWay Community College (2-11-1, 2-11-1) 1-0 earning their fourth straight shutout victory.

Sophomore Maury Urcadez (Tucson Magnet HS) scored on a long shot in the first half and the defense did the rest.

The Aztecs outshot the Geckos 15-4 for the game. Sophomore goalkeeper Daniela Sanchez (Sabino HS) finished the game with four saves.

The Aztecs swept the Geckos during the regular season. Pima won 5-0 last month at the Kino North Grandstand.

Pima women's soccer head coach Kendra Veliz picked up her 198th career win at Pima.

The Aztecs play three of their final four regular season home games at Kino North Stadium. They host rival Chandler-Gilbert Community College on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Pima lost 3-1 last month in Chandler.
