The Pima Community College women's soccer team (2-0) earned its first shutout victory of the season on Tuesday at Glendale Community College (0-2).
- The No. 11 ranked Aztecs defeated the Gauchos 5-0 as five different players scored goals for Pima.
- Freshman Mari Acosta (Sahuarita HS) scored the second goal for the Aztecs in the 12th minute and also provided the assist to set up sophomore Seti Valencia's (Sunnyside HS) goal in the 74th minute.
- Sophomore Nayeli Vidal (Sahuaro HS) put Pima on the scoreboard with her goal in the 11th minute. The Aztecs took a 2-0 advantage at the break.
- The Aztecs poured it on with three goals in the second half. Sophomore Twyla Himmel (Ironwood Ridge HS) netted her goal in the 52nd minute. Fellow sophomore Litycia Espinoza (Sahuarita HS) made it 4-0 when she found the back of the net in the 71st minute.
- The Aztecs finished the game with 14 shots on goal. Sophomore Angelina Amparano (Salpointe Catholic HS) closed it out with 12 saves.
The Aztecs will be back on the road on Saturday when they play at Mesa Community College. The teams will be on the pitch at 5:30 p.m.
