The Pima Community College women's soccer team (12-2, 9-2 in ACCAC) closed out the regular season on Tuesday in a tough matchup with undefeated Arizona Western College (12-0, 10-0).
- The No. 3 ranked Aztecs (Division II) fell to the No. 13 ranked Matadors (Division I) 2-0 in Yuma. The Aztecs were shut out for only the second time this season.
- The Matadors got their goals from Victoria Clark and Cianna Thomas in the 9th and 78th minutes respectively.
- The Aztecs finished with five shots on goal. Freshman Adriana Pacheco (Cienega HS) was at the net as she finished with 13 saves.
The Aztecs will be the No. 2 seed in the NJCAA Region I, Division II Tournament. They will host No. 3 seed Scottsdale Community College on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at the West Campus Aztec Field part of the Chapman Automotive Sports Complex. Game time will be at 6:00 p.m.
