National Champion Pole Vaulter Jaida Olson commits to Grand Canyon University

Sophomore Jaida Olson (Pusch Ridge Christian HS) has comitted to continue her collegiate career at Grand Canyon University. Pima Community College women's track & field athlete Jaida Olson (Pusch Ridge Christian HS) will compete at the NCAA Division I level starting this fall.

  • Olson, a sophomore pole vaulter, committed to Grand Canyon University. The Antelopes compete in the Western Athletic Conference.
  • Olson competed in one season for the Aztecs and put together quite a season. She took home the NJCAA Division I National Championship in the Women's Pole Vault with a mark of 3.46 meters (11-feet, 4.25-inches). She also claimed the NJCAA Region I crown in the Pole Vault with a vault of 3.36 meters (11-feet, 0.25-inches).
  • Olson broke the Pima school record in two straight Outdoor meets. Her best vault to secure the final record was set at the ACCAC Championships with a vault of 3.80 meters (12-feet, 5.50-inches).
  • She earned NJCAA All-American, All-Region and All-ACCAC conference honors for the season.

Olson was also named Second Team NJCAA All-Academic for the 2021-22 season (3.80-3.99 GPA).
