Maylee Thompson takes fifth place in the Pentatlon in first day at NJCAA Indoor Nationals
The Pima Community College women's track & field team closed out the first day of competition at the NJCAA Indoor National Championships on Friday at the Alachua County Sports and Events Center in Gainesville, FL.
- The No. 20 ranked Aztecs sit tied for 18th place with a score of four points.
- Freshman Maylee Thompson (Willcox HS) earned the four team points after she finished in fifth place for the Pentathlon with 3002 points. She set a personal-best and put herself fourth on the all-time Pima Indoor school records list.
Other finishes:
- Linda Rivero, Tayler Crane, Alyssa Perez, Reatta Danhof – 10th place in Distance Medley Relay 12:43.25 (personal-record)
- Brianne Roberts – 15th place in Pole Vault 2.96 meters (9-feet, 8.5-inches).
- Tianna Moseley – 17th in Long Jump 5.29 meters (17-4.25).
- Maylee Thompson – 21st in Long Jump 5.10 meters (16-8.75).
The Aztecs will close out competition at the NJCAA Indoor National Championships on Saturday in Gainesville, FL. Events begin at 9:00 a.m. (EST). Follow results here:
