The Pima Community College volleyball team signed three players for its 2020 recruiting class.

  • Andrea Vigil-German (Ironwood Ridge HS), Karla Soto (Nogales HS) and Haley Duncan (Walden Grove HS) signed their letters of intent to join the Aztecs starting next fall.
  • Vigil-German, a 5-9 outside hitter, was named the 5A Southern Region Player of the Year. She helped lead the Nighthawks to a 26-13 overall record. She finished her senior year with 314 kills, 347 digs, 44 aces and 30 blocks in 98 sets played. She plaed for the Club Cactus Juniors club team.
  • "We are so excited to have a player of Andrea's experience join our team. Andrea has played in some very high level matches at both the high school and club level and we look forward to bringing that experience to our gym," Pima volleyball coach Dan Bithell said. "Even more exciting is what a wonderful person we are getting in Andrea. She is caring, hardworking, driven and disciplined. We are looking forward to big things from her in an Aztec uniform."
  • Soto, a 5-8 setter, was selected to the 5A Southern Second Team All-Region as she finished her senior season in triple digits for kills, digs and assists. She had 146 kills, 198 digs and 138 assists in her senior campaign. She played for the Zona Volleyball Club team.
  • "Karla is very dynamic, enthusiastic player that brings a high level of skill and volleyball IQ to her position," Bithell said. "Karla has a super fun personality and makes her teammates around her better. I am excited to welcome Karla to the Aztec family and to see where she can begin to lead this team in the fall."
  • Duncan, a 6-1 middle blocker, was selected 4A Gila Second Team All-Region. She helped lead the Red Wolves to the program's first 4A Gila Region title. They finished with a 15-13 overall record. Duncan finished her senior season with 101 kills, 43 blocks, and 32 assists in 86 sets played. She also played for the Club Cactus Juniors.
  • "Haley is just beginning to unlock her portential as an attacker and a blocker, which is saying a lot considering she led her high school team to their first region crown in their school's history," Bithell said. "Haley wants to learn and is an incredibly hard worker. The sky will be the limit for her as an Aztec and I am excited to begin our journey together."

The Aztecs are coming off two straight seasons of advancing to the NJCAA Region I, Division II championship round.
