Former Aztecs men's basketball players Carrasco and Bessard named NAIA All-Americans

Former Aztecs men's basketball players Abram Carrasco (Cholla HS) and Justin Bessard were named NAIA All-Americans this season for Westmont College (CA). They were both part of the 2018 Aztecs team that finished runner-up at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament. Photos by Stephanie Van Latum

Former Pima Community College men's basketball players Abram Carrasco (Cholla HS) and Justin Bessard earned recognition from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Carrasco and Bessard played for the Westmont College Warriors (CA) this season and were selected NAIA All-Americans.
Carrasco, a junior, was named first team All-American as he led the Warriors averaging 18.9 points and 4.8 assists. This is the second straight year he has been named a first team All-American. Carrasco holds the record for most points scored in a Pima men's basketball career with 1,310 points.
Bessard, a senior, was selected NAIA Honorable Mention All-American. He averaged 15.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.
Carrasco and Bessard were part of the 2018 Aztecs team that finished runner-up at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.
