Gilleland, McReynolds and Meinke combine for 36 kills and five aces as Volleyball bounce back at Phoenix College

The Pima Community College volleyball team (12-11, 9-5 in ACCAC) snapped a three-match skid on Wednesday as it played at Phoenix College (1-17, 0-14).

• The Aztecs picked up a straight set victory over the Bears 27-25, 25-22, 25-23. It was their third victory over Phoenix College this season. The Aztecs had lost their previous three matches and nine sets; all to NJCAA Division II nationally ranked teams.
• Sophomore Haylee Gilleland (Flagstaff HS) closed out the match with a team-high 15 kills to go with one ace.
• Freshman Maggie McReynolds (Mountain View HS) finished with 14 kills, two aces and one block. Sophomore Elli Meinke (Ironwood Ridge HS) posted seven kills and two aces.

The Aztecs will be back on the road on Friday when they play at Chandler-Gilbert Community College. First volley is set for 7:00 p.m.
