Freshman Taylor Brown and Jake Applegate improved on their NJCAA Outdoor national qualifying times while the women's Heptathlon trio of Layla Konski, Hannah Droeg and Maylee Thompson all qualified with their totals at the Mesa Multi's and the Cody McBride Invitational in Phoenix. The Aztecs will compete at the Triton Invitational next Friday and Saturday in La Jolla, CA.

The Pima Community College men’s and women’s track & field teams had a busy weekend competing at the Distance in the Dark, Mesa Multi’s and the Cody McBride Invitational this weekend in Phoenix.

Freshman Taylor Brown (male picture to the right) broke the Pima Outdoor school record in the 200-meter race with a time of 21.11. He broke a 24-year record held by Jeff Garner set at 21.21 back in 2001. The Aztecs produced nine total national qualifiers to open the Outdoor Season at the Willie Williams Invitational on Saturday at the Roy P. Drachman Stadium. The Pima Community College Men’s and Women’s Track & Field teams opened the Outdoor Season on Saturday at the Roy P. Drachman Stadium as part of the Willie Williams Invitational.

The Aztecs women's Track & Field team produced six NJCAA Indoor All-Americans and finished 10th in the final team standings with a score of 21.5. Sophomore Maylee Thompson earned honors in the Pentathlon and the Long Jump. The Pima Community College Women’s Track & Field team competed at the NJCAA Indoor National Championships on Friday and Saturday at the Sports Performance Center in Lubbock, TX.

Freshman Jake Applegate broke his own Indoor school record in the 60-meter hurdles for the second time crossing the finish line at 8.25 seconds. He broke his original record of 8.30 seconds. Freshman Taylor Brown improved his national qualifier in the 400 meters with a time of 48.06 seconds. He is No. 3 in Pima Indoor school history for the event. The Pima Community College men’s and women’s track & field teams competed in their final regular season meet of the Indoor Season on Friday at the NAU Tune-Up in Flagstaff.

Sophomore Darlington Onsarigo (Mica Mountain HS) earned an Indoor national qualifier in the Triple Jump with a mark of 14.62 meters (47-feet, 11.50-inches) while freshman Layla Konsi (Ironwood Ridge HS) secured an Indoor and Outdoor qualifier in the Long Jump at 5.81 meters (19-0.75). The Pima Community College men’s and women’s track & field teams hosted the Pima Multi’s/Indoor Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the West Campus Aztec Track.

Sophomore Reatta Danhof took down her fourth school record in as many weeks as she broke her own 800 meter record with a time of 2:18.31. Fellow sophomore Linda Rivero is second in Pima history as she finished the 800 meter race at 2:22.12 earning a national qualifier in the process. The Pima Community College women’s track & field team competed in its fourth meet of the Indoor Season on Saturday at the Gaucho Indoor Invitational in Glendale.

Sophomore Reatta Danhof (1) broke her third Pima Indoor school record on Saturday; this time in the 1,000 meter race as she took first place with a time of 3:00.39. The Pima Community College men’s and women’s track & field teams competed in its second meet of the 2025 season on Saturday at the PVCC Indoor Invitational held at Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix.

The Aztecs women's Track & Field team opened the 2025 season earning seven NJCAA national qualifying marks at the Jim Mielke Multi's and the Al Shirley Memorial Invitational. Sophomore Reatta Danhof broke her own Pima Indoor school record in the 800 meters with a time of 2:21.32 while sophomore Maylee Thompson (Pentathlon) and Morgan Pepe (Pole Vault) earned national qualifiers and sit at No. 2 in Indoor all-time school history in their respected events.
