The Pima Community College men’s track & field team began postseason competition on Monday and Tuesday at the Region I Multi’s Championships held at Mesa Community College.

Freshman Elijah Conroy (Rincon/University HS) earned an NJCAA national qualifying time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:47.55) while freshman Nasir Tucker improved on his qualifying mark in the Long Jump at 7.36 meters (24-1.75). Photos by Danielle Main and Stephanie van Latum

The Pima Community College men’s track & field team competed in its final regular season meet on Friday at the Mesa Invitational held at Mesa Community College.

Sophomore Jesus Quintero earned a national qualifying time in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.21 while freshman Nasir Tucker earned his qualifier in the Long Jump with a mark of 7.32 meters (24-feet, 0.25-inches). Photos by Ben Carbajal

The Pima Community College men’s track & field teams competed at the GCC Invitational on Saturday held at Glendale Community College.

Freshman Nathaniel Curtiss improved on his national qualifier in the High Jump and is now second in school history (2.16 meters, 7-feet, 1-inch). Freshman Jordan Cortner improved on his national qualifier in the 400-meter hurdles (54.34) and Louis Madrigal-Diaz set a national qualifier in the 1,500 meters (3:58.77). The No. 3 ranked Pima Community College men’s track & field teams competed at the Triton Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the University of California San Diego in La Jolla, CA.

(1) Aztecs Men's Track & Field claimed three ACCAC Conference titles on Friday as Adam McCoy (Pole Vault), Abraham Valenzuela (5,000-meters) and Nathaniel Curtiss (High Jump) were tops in their events. The Pima Community College men’s track & field team competed in the ACCAC Conference Championships on Friday held at Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix.

The Pima Community College men’s track & field competed at the Willie Williams Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Roy P. Drachman Stadium hosted by the University of Arizona.

Sophomores Broden Cahoon and Dillon Arvayo (Mountain View HS) set national qualifiers for the Decathlon on Friday at the Mesa Multi's Meet as the Aztecs opened the Outdoor Season this weekend. The Pima Community College men’s track & field team opened the 2024 Outdoor Season this weekend.

Sophomore Abraham Valenzuela (Palo Verde HS) took second place and broke his own school record in the one-mile race with a time of 4:03.76. The 4x800 relay team of Evan Rasoumoff, Wyatt Preble, Louis Madrigal-Diaz and Caelan Pando broke the school record and took seventh place with a time of 7:50.86. Sophomore Dillon Arvayo (Mountain View HS) placed eighth in the Pentathlon with a new PR of 4666 points. they Aztecs finished in sixth place with a score of 56 points. The Pima Community College men’s track & field team entered the final day of competition at the NJCAA Indoor National Championships sitting atop the team standings.

The Aztecs Men's Track & Field team leads in the team standings with 45 points after the first day of competition at the NJCAA Indoor National Championships. The high jump squad of Brett Wynn (4th), Nathaniel Curtiss (2nd) and Tyler Rogers (1st) scored a combined 22.5 points while long jumpers Jacques Jones (4th) and Raekwon Weatherspoon (2nd) scored 13 points. The Pima Community College men’s track & field team set two new NJCAA national qualifying marks and another two indoor school records fell on Friday at the NAU Tune-Up Meet in Flagstaff, AZ.

The Pima Community College men’s track & field team competed in GCC Indoor Invitational on Saturday at Glendale Community College.

Sophomore Abraham Valenzuela (Palo Verde HS) set two new NJCAA Indoor national qualifying times in the 800 meters (1:53.80) and as part of the Distance Medley Relay team (10:14.80). The Pima Community College men’s track & field team set four more NJCAA national qualifying marks on Saturday at the CAC Indoor Invitational held at Central Arizona College.

Sophomore Abraham Valenzuela (Palo Verde HS) and freshman Nasir Tucker (Palo Verde HS) broke Pima Indoor school records and set national qualifying times on Saturday at the PVCC Indoor Invitational. The Pima Community College men’s track & field team got two more NJCAA Indoor national qualifying times on Saturday at the PVCC Indoor Invitational in Phoenix.

Sophomore Abraham Valenzuela (Palo Verde HS) broke a Pima school record and set a national qualifying time, finishing the One-Mile race with a time of 4:12.94.
